This course is for new candidates only. The Open Water Lifeguard Qualification is designed to provide you with the skills to supervise and provide rescue cover for planned, organised and risk-assessed activities in open water (still, non-tidal). Planned, organised and risk-assessed activities within open water may typically consist of any of the following activities, providing they are structured and managed to reduce the risk of accidents or drowning: • Lifesaving training activities • Open water swim sessions • Open water swim events • Triathlon events This course does not equip you to undertake risk assessment and operational planning for an open water setting. All equipment needed can be provided. Pre -requisits: Be 16+ years of age on the date of assessment Be able to complete a continuous swim of at least 400m in a pool Be able to dive to a depth of up to 2 metres
To cancel or reschedule your booking requires 48 hours notice. Except any coaching or training course in you cancel a course within two weeks of the event you will only receive 50 % of the booking fee as a refund. Greater than two weeks you will get a full refund. Bookings can be rescheduled as an alternative to cancelling.
