I have always been involved in water activities whether swimming or paddlesports. I was fortunate to then seek a second career working in the outdoors and gained many NGB qualifications. In 2014 I gained a BA Hons degree in Outdoor Leadership.
In 2015 I took part in my first open water swimming event, and this developed into a passion for open water coaching qualified with both SE and STA and sharing my vast experience with others and expanding into swim hikes and canoe swims. I myself achieved Coniston end to end swim 2020. In 2019 I completed my first quadrathon at the Diva Deva event. I have lots I still want to achieve.
I currently coach for Blackpool Aquatics and Cybele triathlon club, I have been fortunate to coach some great athletes, I have coached a gentleman who achieved both Coniston and Windermere end to end swims. I have also been technical advisor for television advertising involving open water swimming.
In 2021 I became an Aquatic Tutor for STA and can tutor the awards course.
Sport has always been a massive part of my life, from swimming galas as a child to track events as a teen - and all of the tennis comps in between! I’ve been fortunate enough to be a coach for over 10 years working predominantly within the tennis and the fitness industry, however of more recent times; triathlon.
As a triathlon competitor I’ve loved training for races and enjoy pushing myself. Last year was my first season racing and I podiumed at all races entered. This year I have three 70.3 races booked in the diary and next year I’ll be going for the full IM distance. I set the bar high with what I want to achieve, and feel that this transfers across to my own coaching style of trying to bring the best out in people. I embarked on my triathlon coaching qualifications so that I could share my own knowledge and to continue to help others achieve their goals, no matter what their ability!
I’m really excited to work alongside Annie at Wyresdale and can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the open water experience!
