Service Description

This module focuses on specific inland waterway hazards along with in-water skills. Flat water environments & hazards, moving water environments & hazards, group management, communication systems, standard operating procedures, search procedures in water and principles of rescues. Pre-Requisites Candidates must be 16 years of age, and must have completed the NWSMP 2.0 Water Safety Awareness. Ability to swim at least 400m, be comfortable and confident in the water. Kit List Photo ID (such as a driving licence or passport) Notebook and pen Packed lunch and drinks Personal medication Wetsuit Swimming costume Towel Brightly coloured swimming hat Wetsuit boots or lace-up shoes to wear in the water (not sandals or crocs because they’ll fall off) Buoyancy aid (if you have one) Water sports helmet (if you have one). Warm clothes to change into after swimming
